Winston-Salem, NC -- Jobs are booming in construction as the housing market rebounds and workers in the industry retire. That's leaving plenty of positions open for future workers.
Students from 17 counties in North Carolina are getting a hands-on learning experience during the 2013 Construction Career Days at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. More than 1,500 high schools students will have an opportunity to explore it from April 9 - 10. This is the fourth year for the event.
The event is sponsored by the Construction Industry Council of the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, the N.C. Dept. of Transportation and Forsyth Technical Community College.
