Meteorologist Grant Gilmore got tips from bracket scientist Pete Tiernan about forecasting the NCAA Tournament.

Tiernan owns BracketScience.com and runs statistical models to help you pick your teams. He has been using stats to analyze March Madness for 22 years and writes for CBSSports.com and has also contributed to ESPN.com and SI.com.

"I don't fill out my bracket until the very last day," he said. "I have a number of statistical models that sort of automatically crank out the answers. I guess it must seem strange that I never go by them in my personal bracket because statistics can only take you so far."

Tiernan said he expects both UNC and NC State to get past tehir first round games. He also expects to see Duke in the Sweet 16.
