Burlington, NC -- Teachers from around the nation will soon be able to learn a thing or two from Southern Middle's Teacher of the Year.
Heather Stephan, with the Alamance-Burlington Schools is a teacher at Southern Middle. That's where she inspires her classes of 7th grade math students. Not only has she earned the title of 2013 Southern Middle Teacher of the Year, but now she's one of only four other math teachers across the U.S. who will help develop lesson plans for the Master Teacher Project for Better Lesson.
The program allows teachers to learn from each other and their classroom experiences. That's where they can share lessons and resources related to teaching.
Stephan was chosen from 360 applicants to take part in the program. She'll upload her lessons daily along with her reflections of what she could have done differently for each. Her lessons will also go live later in the spring.
