Triad -- There is a stationary boundary located across the state and it brings the possibility of thunderstorms through Sunday.
The rest of this evening, there could be storms with heavy rain, gusty wind and frequent lightning. Parts of Caswell County received 3-5" of rain earlier in the day and then another round of rain on top of that. There is a flash flood warning in effect for the county until 11:30 pm. There could be ponding of water and localized flooding even though the rain has stopped.
Sunday could bring another round of thunderstorms. The same front will meander around the state. That will bring at least a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms- mainly in the afternoon and evening. It will also continue to be hot and humid. Highs will approach 90 on Sunday afternoon.
The week ahead will bring temps in the low to mid 90s and a chance of thunderstorms every afternoon.
