Police: Suspect Wanted In Burlington Assault

Burlington, NC -- Police are looking for a Burlington man after he assautled another man in his home Sunday morning.

Officers responded to Rainey Street just before 3:45 a.m. in reference to a reported robbery. Police found the victim at his front door with a cut on his forearm.

Detectives say Anthony Tony Neal, 47, forced his way into the man's home, carrying a knife and a gardening tool, and assaulted him. Neal then left the scene in a large, dark-colored SUV.

After an investigation, police learned that the two men were acquaintances.

Paramedics took the victim to Alamance Regional Medical Center to get treatment for his arm.

Police are still looking for Neal, whose address is listed as Old Stoney Mountain Road in Burlington.

Officers obtained warrants on Neal for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault inflicting serious injury in the presence of a minor, and breaking and entering.
