Jose Hernandez, Jose Sid, wanted for escaping from High Point Jail.
High Point, NC-- WFMY News 2 looked though dozens of documents and 60 warrants involving Jose Alberto Hernandez-Hernandez and Jose Idel Sid, revealing the details behind the criminal charges.
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is still looking for two inmates who escaped on Saturday through a small window in their cell. Guilford County Sheriff BJ Barnes told WFMY News 2 the clever getaway involved toothpaste, bed sheets, and a piece of the metal from a ceiling grate.
Human Error To Blame In Inmates' Escape, Guilford County Sheriff BJ Barnes Says
Sheriff Barnes said he doesn't think the inmates present any threat to the public. When we started digging into their record, we found some disturbing details about why they were in jail in the first place.
WFMY News 2's Liz Crawford looked through piles of documents at the Guilford County Clerk of Court.
Jose Alberto Hernandez-Hernandez was in jail charged with Abusing a Minor Under the Age of 16, nearly 40 times dating back to 2009 and lasting until February of 2013. One warrant also revealed 35-year-old, Hernandez showed the girl pornography at least three times.
There are another 20 warrants involving another girl, under the age of 13. There were 17 counts of Indecent Liberties, Attempted First Degree Rape, and Engaging in a Sex Offense With a Minor, just two weeks ago. That's also the day he was arrested.
That's likely the day Hernandez met his cell-mate, 36-year-old Jose Idel Sid.
Sid is charged with four counts of Indecent Liberties With a Child, Committing a Lewd Act on a 16-year-old girl, 15-year-old boy, 13-year-old girl, and 11-year-old girl, all on the same date.
News 2 also found Sid's bond paperwork. It reveals Sid was charged with "Alleged Physical Assault and Groping of Genitals." It also stated he was "extremely intoxicated at the time" and that he was "after these children two days running." Finally it called him a "menace to society" and "high flight risk."
Hernandez was arrested on March 4, 2013. He escaped 12 days later. Sid had been in jail since May.
Law enforcement doesn't know if Hernandez and Sid are even in the area anymore. There is a $5,000 reward available for anyone with information that leads to an arrest of both suspects.
