Greensboro, NC -- A woman is recovering in the hospital after police say her boyfriend broke into her home and assaulted her with a gun Friday night.
Police were dispatched to Holt Avenue right after 8 p.m. and spoke with a woman who had been assaulted. The victim told police her boyfriend broke into her home, with five children there at the time, and beat her with his gun.
Police say the man then ran from the home, got into a taxi and left the scene.
The woman was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The children were not harmed.
Police are looking for a man named Karon Smith in relation to this assault.
