Police Make Arrest In 2008 Homicide

Winston-Salem, NC-- Police in Winston-Salem Police said they've solved a murder that happened more than four years ago.

In July 2008 police were dispatched to an apartment on Yarbrough Avenue about a man down. Officers found Ezequiel Bacilio dead from a gunshot.

During the 2008 investigation, Detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of Luis Angel Santibanez for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Santibanez who was living in Winston-Salem disappeared before police were able arrest him.

Sunday, October 28 Detectives learned that Officers in Phoenix, Arizona had taken Luis Santibanez into custody based on the 2008 warrant for arrest issued in Winston-Salem, NC.  Luis Angel Santibanez was officially charged and served with warrants for First Degree Murder in the death of Ezequiel Bacilio.

Luis Santibanez is currently being held in a Phoenix, Arizona detention facility where he awaits extradition back to North Carolina.
