Martinsville, VA-- Wednesday, the Henry County Sheriff's Office announced that two people had been indicted for a crime that happened last year.
A Henry County Grand Jury indicted Darius Taylor Younger, 21 and Kayla Mae Bowman, 20 in the deaths of two people found burned in a car.
Officers said Younger was indicted for three counts of Capital Murder, three counts of Use of Firearm in Commission of Murder, one count of Robbery, one count of Use of Firearm in Commission of Robbery and one count of Maliciously Shoot into Occupied Vehicle.
Kayla Mae Bowman was charged with one count of Carjacking and one count of Concealing or Compounding Evidence of a Felony. Investigators said the two were involved in the deaths of Robert Walker Lawrence, 33, and Amanda Ann Massey, 31.
On May 23, after a 911 call fire crews were dispatched to a car fire around 5:30am on Willie Craig Road in Bassett, VA. The fire department discovered two bodies in the car after putting the fire out.
The cause of death has not been determined. Detectives used DNA to ID the bodies.
Bowman is in the Henry County Jail under no bond. Younger is currently incarcerated serving an active sentence in the Virginia Dept. of Corrections for an unrelated crime.
