Burlington, NC -- Police arrested two men Saturday--and are stiil looking for a third--for their roles in a Friday shooting that put a woman in the hospital.
Burlington police responded to reports of multiple shots fired near James and Mebane Streets. A man later called police and said he was driving a woman, 19, to the hospital.
The victim had suffered a single gunshot to the right shoulder. At the time of the most recent release, police said the woman was OK.
The man and the woman were involved in some sort of confrontation with Dove, Tyner and another man in a silver or white Nissan. The victims drove away, and the suspects started shooting at their vehicle.
Four bullets hit the car, and one hit the female victim.
Officers arrested Marcus Antonio Deneal Dove, 18, and Dalvin Juane Tyner at a residence in the 300 block of Austin St. around 2 p.m. Saturday.
They've been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Vehicle with Serious Injury, and Discharging a Firearm from within an Enclosure.
In addition, Dove was charged with two counts of resisting an officer after he tried to run from police. He's been placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond.
Tyner was also charged in an Aug. 15 breaking and entering case on Short St. He's charged with Breaking and Entering, Larceny after Breaking and Entering, Larceny of a Firearm, Possession of Stolen Property. He's been placed in jail under a $300,000 secured bond.
Police are still investigating and are trying to identify the third suspect.
