Burlington, NC -- A 19-year-old is recovering at Alamance Regional Medical Center after being hit by a stray bullet during a burglary early Saturday.
Officers say two unknown, armed men tried to break into the home, and the occupants fought back.
One of the men took a gun from one of the burglary suspects and fired at the men. One of the bullets inadvertently hit James Jenkins who was home at the time.
The suspects ran from the scene, and Jenkins was transported to the hospital.
Police do not know Jenkins' condition, but he was responsive when they made contact.
Officers are still looking for the burglars.
