Winston-Salem, NC -- A man turned himself in to police after assaulting a woman and setting a single family home on fire Aug. 4.
Winston-Salem police and firefighters responded to a house fire on Marble St. early Saturday.
Through an investigation, police learned Demario Ramount Harris had assaulted a woman at that same home hours before.
Officers obtained warrants for Harris' arrest for charges of Assault by Strangulation and Assault on a Female, but Harris was nowhere to be found.
Harris turned himself in early Monday.
Police determined Harris was also responsible for the fire and charged him with Second-Degree Arson and Malicious Use of an Explosive or Incendiary Substance.
Officers arrested Harris at the Forsyth County Jail.
