Greensboro, NC-- An officer had to help a woman out of her car after she crashed it into a house in a pursuit with him.
Around 2:10pm Thursday, Greensboro police said they saw a damaged 1994 Buick parked alongside the road in the area of Merritt Drive and Immanuel Road. According to the police report, the car matched the description of a vehicle involved in several hit and run accidents.
Officers stopped to question the driver and that's when she got into the car and drove off. Police said the driver Tori Michelle Stimpson led them on a brief low-speed pursuit. But, the officer was able to stop the car in the 3000 block of Immanuel Road which was less than a mile from where the pursuit started.
And before they could talk with Stimpson, police said she drove off again and this time she crashed the vehicle into a house off Immanuel Road.
Police said Stimpson was not injured in the collision. She was transported by EMS for physical and mental evaluations.
The officer sustained minor injuries while extracting Stimpson form the vehicle. The Fire Department was called to evaluate house's structure for safety.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
