Jeb Bush seems to be taking his mother's opposition to him running for president in stride.

In a post on Twitter, the former Florida governor responded to Barbara Bush's comments to C-SPAN that presidential candidates shouldn't just come from political dynasties such as the Bush family. His retort is a little cheeky but makes a point.

"What date is Mother's Day this year? Asking for a friend," Bush tweeted.

Barbara Bush is known for being feisty, and she's been consistent about not wanting to see her second-oldest son follow in the footsteps of his father (the 41st president) and brother (the 43rd president).

"I hope he won't because I think he'll get all my enemies, all his brother's ... and there are other families," Bush says in the interview airing Monday. "I refuse to accept that this great country isn't raising other wonderful people."

Jeb Bush has said he's been putting off having a conversation with his family about whether he'll run for president in 2016. He told a New York City audience in November that he's always listened to his mother respectfully, but now that he's 60 years old, his decisions are his to make.
