WFMY News 2 - Career expert Joyce Richman says when you're looking for a new job, you should master how you sound on the phone.
Richman says the first step to getting a face to face interview is selling your skills through a telephone interview. She says to get through the screening process your sound has to be upbeat, positive and energetic. She says the person on the other side of the phone has to hear it in your voice.
One way to check this is to leave yourself a message on your own voicemail and then play it back. Richman says clarity, articulation, confidence and energy will secure a face to face interview.
