Greensboro, NC -- About two dozen hospitals nationwide including Cone Health are using the new Xenex pulsed Xenon disinfection system. They hope it will help prevent the spread of some of the most common hospital infections like MRSA.
The Business Journal reports "with an average MRSA infection costing $26,000 to treat, the $80,000 Xenex machines have more than paid for themselves since they were put into place about a year ago, according to Dr. Mary Jo Cagle, chief quality officer for Cone Health."
