Winston-Salem, NC -- Technology developed at a local college might lead to a solar panel manufacturing facility in the region.
Executives with Camel City Solar licensed the technology from Wake Forest University, and met with Chamber of Commerce officials to talk about incentives for the project. The factory would make solar panels that would be both more efficient and easier to install than current versions.
Camel City Solar is currently headquartered in Pennsylvania, but executives said the headquarters would likely relocate to the site of the company's first factory.
If the factory comes to our area, it could employ 50-200 people in its first two years.
