Triad Business Journal Report

Triad, NC - A packaging and carton-maker purchased a vacant building in Winston-Salem and plans on bringing business to the area.  Rock-Tenn Company bought the vacant building on Bethania Station Road for over $1 million from CML Microcircuits.  Rock-Tenn employs more than 500 workers and is looking to expand locally.

Two companies in charge of UNC-Greensboro's Glenwood Mixed-Use Village Development are seeking subcontractors.  They are willing to pay $44 million to get the first phase of the development rolling.  UNCG's Capital Facilities Foundation selected the joint venture in September to manage construction of the first phase, which includes four student housing buildings.  Those properties at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Lee Street will accommodate 800 underclassmen.

Elon University is planning a $4 million multi-faith center on campus.  It's part of their expansion plans slated for the next decade.  The "Numen Lumen Pavilion" is one of several construction projects planned at Elon, including housing units and expanded academic facilities.
