Winston-Salem, NC -- Forsyth Medical Center is trying to attract heart patients. They're bringing the top-rated heart program from the Cleveland Clinic to the Triad. Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, a fellow Novant Health facility will join them. The Winston-Salem hospital's heart program will now carry the name "Forsyth Cardiac and Vascular Center in affiliation with Cleveland Clinic Heart and Vascular Institute."
Lexington, NC -- Lexington artist and designer Bob Timberlake licensed his brand name for a line of "super-premium" dog food. Georgia-based Southern Foods at Home will produce the the Bob Timberlake Signature Series Super-Premium Dog Food. This comes after years of research, analysis and testing to determine the best recipe. Timberlake says he decided to launch a dog-food line after his grandson's bird dog died from a liver disease apparently caused by fillers used in an imported dog food. He will formally launch the product at the Timberlake Gallery in Lexington Tuesday. That event will benefit K9's For Warriors, which provides service dogs to wounded veterans.
High Point, NC -- Furniture Transport Group is shutting down in High Point and Lenoir. The Business Journal reports the company will liquidate its assets. About 600 employees could be affected. The company hopes actual job losses will be less severe. Furniture Ttransport Group has been trying to renegotiate its financing with senior lenders for several months without any success.
