GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Temperatures Wednesday afternoon soared into the middle and upper 70s across the Triad and will return to the low-mid 70s again on Thursday, Halloween.
These temperatures are well above the normal high for late October which is 67°. As a result, the 2 Wants To Know Team wanted to know wen was the warmest Halloween on record in the Triad.
The warmest October 31st, Halloween, on record for the Piedmont Triad International Airport was in 1961. The high temperature that year was 85° with a morning low of 61°.

On the other side of the spectrum was 1954 which was the coldest Halloween on record. The high temperature on October 31st, 1954 was 49° with a chilling low temperature of 32°.
The normal range for high temperatures on Halloween in the Triad is 60-74 degrees with low temperatures ranging from 37-50 degrees.
The high and low temperature on Halloween in 2012 was 52 and 35 degrees respectively.
