PIEDMONT TRIAD, NC -- When it comes to making dinner, does it pay to make it yourself or just grab a frozen dinner?

Our 2 Wants To Know crew went shopping to find out.
For our example, we focused on lasanga.

First, lets say you go the frozen food route. A Stouffer's family-size lasagna serves seven people. It costs $9.97 at Walmart.

But, if you wanted to make a lasagna to serve eight people yourself you would need to buy several ingredients.

After buying the noodles, ground beef, two types of cheese, and spaghetti sauce, you would spend $13.14; and then you'd have to prepare it.

So, in this specific case, you would save time and money going with the frozen food option.

Always do the money math and consider if the savings are worth the time.
