Greensboro, NC -- The Greensboro Red Cross is helping those involved in the Navy Yard Shooting. From the people who work there to the families of those who worked there.
Jim Guidone drove up to D.C. on Tuesday morning to help in the Red Cross efforts. The main part of the Red Cross response on Monday was to provide comfort and communication for people at the Navy Yard and the families coming to the yard to check on their safety.
On Tuesday, the main reponse was to provide counseling for the family members and feed the responders. He says unlike a natural disaster, there is no destruction of infrastructure. But he explained how when something like this happens, there was no warning and it takes time for the shock of the situation to wear off.
