What do you do with that old phone?
We have a slew of options, but let me say this first.
Delete all personal info, including pictures, from the phone!
Ting.com has a whole list of ideas of what to do with your phone like:
An older smart phone can be the dedicated media player for the car an alarm clock for the kids, even a game player. To find out what else you can do Ting.com recommends googling "hack (your phone model)" and see what comes up.
You can sell it .
You can do that yourself on sites like craigslist or Ebay.
But if you don't want the hassle there are businesses, like Glyde, that will do it for you for a fee of course.
Recycle it. With all the copper and silver and other elements in your phone it doesn't belong in the trash. A lot of stores, like Staples and Best Buy will recycle your phone for free. Check with the EPA for the stores that recycle phones and other electronics and their allowances.
And last but not least, you can give it away. Charities from cellphones for soldiers, local and national domestic violence organizations and more will take working cellphones.
