Greensboro, NC -- Can you taste the difference between a generic and a name brand snack? 2WTK tested the Fun Fourth goers to see if they could.
107 people took our graham cracker challenge and picked a winner. Taste testers only knew the graham crackers only as "A" and "B".
Over and over again, they chewed, mused and talked about which one they thought was the generic. In the end, 63 people picked "B" and 44 peope picked "A".
It appears, yes, you can taste the difference! "B" was the name brand, Nabisco HoneyMaid at $2.98. Coming in second was "A" the WalMart store brand $2.18.
The ingredients are basically the same. The only real difference is the amount of sodium. There was 30mg more sodium in the generic than the name brand.
