Greensboro, NC -- Sunny days mean we all want to spend more time outdoors. This also means you'll need to bathe in sunscreen.

I hope you're stocking up, because you need at least 9 teaspoons of sunscreen to get the promised coverage on the bottle. Prevention Magazine mapped it out for folks in their May 2013 issue.

How much and where? You'll need a teaspoon for your face neck and head. Two teaspoons for the upper front and back torso, if you show your belly you need more, 1 teaspoon per arm and 2 teaspoons per leg.  This adds up to 1.5 ounces. And get this to get the coverage on the bottle you have to re-apply every 2 hours.

One person would go through this whole bottle in a day at the beach. So, stock up. And when you do, don't let the numbers fool you.

Often the higher the SPF the higher the price. But the effectiveness may not be worth the price. SPF 30 deflects 97% of the sun's rays while SPF 50 deflects 98%.

You decide if that one percent is worth a difference in price.
