Marketing yourself is similar to marketing a company. Below are a few examples of how you can take your career to the next level:

Identify your "personal customers." These are not the same as your company's customers. They are people      who may influence your career such as co-workers, supervisors, or even hiring managers. Deliver superior service to your personal customers.

Ask "What's in it for you?" instead of "What's in it for me?"  Know when you talk to your boss, you should be able  to steer the conversation to include something about your job performance and what is in it for them and the company.

Become the "GO TO" person.

Make it a priority to be the person to come up with the solution, be the person    the boss and other co-workers can count on.

     Invest in your persuasive abilities.

     Become an avid reader.
