Charlotte, NC - The Carolina Panthers announced Friday that the team has traded running back Mike Goodson to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for offensive tackle Bruce Campbell.
Campbell, 6-6 and 315 pounds, played in four games for the Raiders in 2011. As a rookie in 2010, Campbell played in 10 games, primarily on special teams, after being selected by Oakland in the fourth round (106th overall) of the NFL Draft out of the University of Maryland.
"We think Bruce Campbell is a very young, talented offensive lineman who has all the physical qualities to play in this League," says general manager Marty Hurney. "He played guard his first two seasons with the Raiders, but we will look at moving him to tackle. Mike is a talented player who gave us three good years, but our depth at running back allowed us to make this move."
In three seasons with the Panthers, Goodson played in 28 games with three starts. He rushed 125 times for 501 yards and three touchdowns and added 43 receptions for 329 yards. He was selected by the Panthers the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.
