Beijing, China (SportsNetwork.com) - Stephen Curry scored 24 points and hit a
few big shots in the fourth quarter to help the Golden State Warriors rally
for a 100-95 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in China.
David Lee led the Warriors with 31 points and Klay Thompson added 13, while
Andrew Bogut grabbed 14 rebounds in the victory. Curry and Thompson combined
for five 3-pointers in the final period, as Golden State outscored Los
Nick Young scored 18 points for the Lakers, while Xavier Henry and Pau Gasol
each chipped in 15 points. Chris Kaman contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds
Los Angeles scored eight straight early in the third for a 67-58 cushion and
carried an 80-69 advantage into the fourth, but the Warriors opened the final
period with an 18-4 run and grabbed an 87-84 lead on back-to-back triples by
Curry with just over six minutes remaining.
The Lakers were still within one with 2 1/2 minutes to play, but Thompson
drilled a shot from beyond the arc for 97-93 edge and the Warriors made enough
free throws down the stretch to seal it.
Neither team led by more than six during a tight first half. The Warriors held
a 29-26 lead after 12 minutes, but the Lakers used an 11-4 run during the
second quarter to move in front and took a 54-52 edge to the intermission.
