New York, NY (Sports Network) - Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Domonic Brown has been selected as the National League's Player of the Month for May.

Brown led the National League with 12 home runs and 25 RBI. He hit for .303 during the month of May with a slugging percentage of .688. The left-handed- hitting slugger became the first player in Major League history to hit at least 10 home runs in a calendar month without a walk.

In his final game of the month, he hit two homers and registered four RBI in an 8-5 loss to Milwaukee.

This is the 25-year-old's first time winning the National League Player of the Month award. Brown also won his second consecutive National League Player of the Week award on Monday.

Other players who received votes included Arizona's Paul Goldschmidt, Cincinnati's Joey Votto, San Francisco's Marco Scutaro, Milwaukee's Jean Segura and St. Louis' Matt Carpenter.
