The WSSU starting quarterback, Rudy Johnson, said Monday in a news conference that at least two VSU players hit him in the bathroom during a football banquet on campus. He said VSU players were talking trash prior to hitting him.
According to WSSU, police arrested one VSU player that Friday after admitting to the assault.
Friday's assault caused officials to cancel Saturday's Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship between the two teams.
