Greensboro, NC -- With the ACC Women's Tournament in town this week, the question of the sport's popularity is once again at the forefront.
Just as there's a disparity in the pay between men and women, there's also a disparity in the popularity between men's and women's athletics.
With the tournament in town, WFMY News 2 found a few fans who say that shouldn't be the case.
Miriam Lewis said, "The competition is much better than what is was 40 years ago, it's much more exciting thanks to Title 9. [...] They see the improvement in the playing styles, we've seen so many woman that have moved on from the collegiate arena into the WNBA and they've played right here in Greensboro."
Jeff Sykes of Reidsville said, "Its an entertaining game to watch. I enjoy watching the woman when it's a high level competition and plus its important for both boys and girls to understand that their contribution and effort are important and valued no matter which side of the coin they're on. I think they're both equally important."
