Anderson, SC -- A South Carolina couple finally hears good news after a year of searching.
Larry Swilling has been on a mission to save his wife, Jimmy Sue, after she was told that she needed a kidney transplant or she would die.
The two have been together for nearly 58 years and Larry wanted to make sure she would be by his side for many more to come. Larry walked for miles every day with a sign strapped to his chest asking people to help find a kidney for his wife and a phone number where people could call to be tested.
The sign worked, nearly 2,000 people were tested to see if they were a match for Jimmy Sue.
Now after about a year, all of Larry's walking has finally paid off. Doctors called this week to tell the couple that a match was found for Jimmy Sue.
They don't know much about the donor other than it's a 41 year old woman who lives in Virginia.
The couple will meet the donor on September 10th before the transplant surgery which is scheduled for September 11th.
