San Antonio, TX -- Terrifying moments Friday afternoon when a school bus crashed into a home at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.
The wreck happened just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Garden Avenue and William Hardee Road.
A Ft. Sam Houston spokesperson, Brent Boller, confirmed 7 people were on the bus at the time of the crash; 25 passengers were children. The other two people were a female driver and a substitute teacher.
Boller said two children on the bus, one child in the home, and the bus driver sustained minor injuries. The bus driver was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in stable condition.
All of the people inured are expected to be okay.
The bus driver told authorities that the brakes went out, causing the bus to go out of control and eventually strike the house.
About a quarter of the bus was stuck inside the house. The family there was moved to a temporary home until another home can be located.
Structural engineers were on the scene to shore up the home before the bus could be removed.
