CEBU, Philippines -- The death toll from a 7.2-magnitude earthquake that struck the central Philippine island of Bohol has risen to 85.
Police in Bohol have reported that 69 of the deaths came from the island, where the quake hit Tuesday morning near the town of Carmen.
The quake toppled buildings and historic churches in the area.
