LARIMER COUNTY -The Larimer County Sheriff's Office reported 350 people unaccounted for as of Saturday evening.
One woman is dead according to emergency officials Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses saw the 60-year-old woman in the Big Thompson River but they
were unable to get to her to rescue her. According to rescue workers,
her home was ripped apart by flood waters around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Emergency officials said they expect more injuries and fatalities as they continue to search the flood waters.
There are more than 1,300 people who still need to be rescued in the Pinewood Springs and Big Elk Meadows areas.
Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith took an aerial tour of the flood
damage on Friday. Smith said he was surprised to see the Poudre Canyon
area looked not as damaged.
The National Guard is providing seven helicopters Saturday to help
with evacuations and bring in emergency personnel to areas needed.
There are 128 people being evacuated from Big Elk Meadows and 1,200
people from Pinewood Springs.
