The California Highway Patrol issued an AMBER Alert late Friday night for two children that it warns are "in danger of physical harm or death."

The alert says that the two children, 3-year-old Martin Angel Rosales II and 9-year-old Lilliana Ramirez, were taken by Martin's father and the mother of both children.

Lilliana has been in the custody of the state of Nevada and both children were taken by the couple, 33-year-old Martin Cisneras Rosales and 29-year-old Amber Schenck, on Wednesday, according to the alert.

California issued the alert for 39 counties, and the alert says authorities fear the adults will try to escape into Mexico with the children.

Martin Cisneras Rosales has "violent tendencies" when dealing with law enforcement and there is a restraining order preventing him from getting within a certain distance of his son, the alert said.

Authorities believe the adults are driving a blue Ford Mustang with Nebraska plates or a temporary paper plate, the alert says.
