WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - For students at St. Leo Catholic School in Winston-Salem, their "Supper with St. Nick" event in December was more than telling Christmas stories and singing Carols.
The 8th grade class wanted to find a way to show veterans and all soldiers of the Armed Forces how much they are appreciated. That's when they got word of the Carolina Field of Honor Memorial.
Students raised $1,000 for the memorial, and along the way, logged 260 service hours.
