An East Flat Rock man has been arrested multiple times this month for violations of his status as a sex offender.
Stephen Carl Harner, 30, was first arrested Jan. 10 for failing to notify authorities of a change of address and on outstanding traffic warrants for failing to appear in court for driving with a revoked license, according to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office. His bond was set at $28,000 for those offenses.
He was later charged on Jan. 15 for being a sex offender on school premises without authorization once it was determined that during his Jan. 10 arrest he was not a parent or guardian of a child in that school, and his presence was not requested by a principal or designee to discuss school related matters of welfare or child transportation, Chief Deputy Frank Stout said. His bond for this offense was $8,000.
Harner was arrested again Jan. 28 for being a sex offender on school premises without authorization after a school resource officer recognized him picking up his girlfriend's daughter, authorities said. He was immediately arrested and given a $16,000 bond, Stout said.
Harner is out on bond pending his next court appearance.
