WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police in Winston-Salem say they have arrested Scott Jason Gericke, who robbed two banks Friday.

Officers told WFMY News 2 that they located Gericke in the 2500 block of North Liberty Street. He was interviewed by robbery detectives and later charged with two counts of Common Law Robbery.

Police said he was transported to Forsyth County Detention Center where the warrants were served.

The first robbery happened after 9 a.m. at the Bank of America on University Parkway. Police say he handled the teller a note demanding money, then took cash and left in a grey SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer.

At 5:41 p.m. Friday night, police said Gericke robbed Capital Bank on 225 East Hanes Mill Road. Officers said he demanded money from the teller and got away with an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank.

Officers said Gericke's arrest photograph and bond are not available at this time.
