Police: Man Assaulted, Robbed After He Was Asked For A Dollar

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police in Greensboro said a man was assaulted and robbed after he tried to give someone a dollar.

Investigators say the crime happened shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday at the bus stop on Banner Avenue and Apache Street. 

The victim told officers that he was walking behind a building to the bus stop and was approached by two men who asked him for a dollar. After taking out his wallet out to give the suspects money, the victim said he was struck in the face and across the chest with a box cutter.

Police said the men took money from the victim and ran away.
