Charlotte, NC -- Carowinds Amusement Park now has power.
They lost power for about six hours after a tree fell on a powerline around 8 am, according to a Carowinds spokesperson.
Duke Energy was sent to restore power.
Carowinds posted updates on their Facebook page and Twitter account, which they will continue to do, according to the spokesperson.
At 3 pm, Carowinds tweeted, "OPEN!!!! pic.twitter.com/3kzVseeDsC."
The amusement park will remain open Friday until 11 pm.
At 2:08 pm, Carowinds tweeted, "Power is on! Keep in mind we have to do our safety checks but we will open parking lot 2:45, and the park at 3!!!!! #woohoo"
Earlier Friday, they posted on their Facebook page: "Thank you everyone for your patience, please realize this was Mother Nature doing what she does."
