Triad -- Some places had heavy rain Sunday afternoon. Others only got a few sprinkles. If you didn't get much from the first batch, you have another chance later tonight as the next wave pushes up from the South.
Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast from now through the 4th of July. We are under a Flash Flood Watch from now until Tuesday at 6 p.m. While it won't be raining the whole time, if any storms do pop up, there could be heavy rain in a short amount of time. The heaviest downpours could bring an inch or more in less than an hour. That could lead to localized flooding.
We will also be cooler than average. Due to increased cloud cover and afternoon rain chances, highs will range in the low to mid 80s each day through Thursday.
By next weekend, our rain chances scale back to a 30-percent chance. Highs will return to the upper 80s for a few days. That is actually a little closer to average as we move into July.
