Last week, Linkedin went on the record to clarify and change its privacy policy on the oldest profession, prostitution. LinkedIn managers said they are not okay with users tagging prostitution on its site. LinkedIn is a networking social media site, mainly used by business professionals.

According to a report from NBC, not only is "prostitution" a tagged skill you can select on LinkedIn, allegedly there are escorts who advertise their services on the professional networking site.

After hearing about this, managers of LinkedIn set out to make sure everyone knows they are not okay with this practice. LinkedIn changed its privacy policy and user agreement. With the changes, the company profoundly bans escorts from using the site to get clients. The new user agreement states that you must not: "Create profiles or provide content that promotes escort services or prostitution" even if prostitution is legal where you live."

LinkedIn has always prohibited "unlawful" profiles and that this change in its user agreement just makes prostitution more explicitly prohibited, since prostitution is legal in some parts of the world.
