Nobody Was Hurt During An Armed Robbery at Joe's Shopwell

Burlington, NC -- Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Burlington store.

The incident at Joe's Shopwell on Apple Street was reported shortly before 11:30 pm Wednesday night. Police said an employee and three customers in the store at the time of the robbery were not harmed.

The employee told investigators two black males came into the store and demanded money. One of them had a gun. While the gun was pointed at the employee, his accomplice took money from the register.

The suspects ran out the front door toward Montclair Drive, according to the police.

Police said the following about the suspected robbers:

Both suspects wore something covering their faces. The person with the handgun was described as approximately 6' tall, large build. He wore a black shirt, black pants and black shoes.

The second suspect was slightly shorter, standing at about 5'7" tall and had an average build. He wore a light colored hooded sweatshirt - his hood pulled up - with khaki pants and light colored shoes.

Police are still investigating this robbery. They ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (336) 229-7100.
