High Point, NC -- Wednesday, Belk announced plans to close their store at the Oak Hollow Mall at the end of 2013. They'll open a new location at the Palladium Shopping Center, and it's scheduled to open in the spring of 2014.

News of the closure of the Oak Hollow location, we asked what's left at Oak Hollow Mall?  The directory on the mall's website lists four remaining anchor stores, including the Belk that's scheduled to close. The page lists 39 occupied stores: which includes retail stores, food places, and the movie theater. But when you count the mall's total available spaces, there are 111 available spaces -- including the kiosks. That means it's about 35 percent occupied.

The mall is still managed by CBL and Associates. But its owned by High Point University. We called the university to ask what they plan to do with the mall. Pam Haynes, University Communications Specialist, said they originally planned to build their School of Pharmacy and Health Services at the mall. But things didn't work out, and they're now building that building on campus.

Haynes said they're now evaluating new plans for the mall.
