Liz joined the WFMY News 2 Team in December 2011. She is excited to make Greensboro, NC her home, embracing sweet tea, barbeque, and southern hospitality. The people are warm and so is the weather. What's not to love?
Prior to WFMY, Liz was accustomed to "lake effect" snowstorms, having worked as a reporter for WICU/WSEE in Erie, PA. While covering whiteout snow storms was an experience, one of her favorite stories was The Pursuit of Parenthood, a series of reports that uncovered the emotional and physical journey for couples experiencing infertility and the hard choices made to start a family.
While in Erie, Liz also anchored a 6 o'clock newscast for One Caribbean Television, a 24-hour channel reaching 22 Caribbean countries. You may have seen her face while on a cruise or in an island hotel.
Before coming to Erie, this Jersey girl got her start in television on her hometown airwaves in Philadelphia as a traffic reporter. Liz also interned for the consumer and investigative departments at NBC Philadelphia while attending La Salle University.
Liz loves what she does because there is never a dull moment in her workday. As Liz puts it, "I get a new story, new angle, new person in my life everyday. With these new stories and people comes thoughtfulness, enlightenment, awareness, and courage. I just get to be their voice."
In her spare time, she's a simple girl, most happy around good friends, getting wrapped up in a good book, or taking a good run. Liz cherishes times spent with her family most of all. While in Greensboro, she'll have to make do skyping her mother for chats over coffee. During football season, she'll miss the sounds of her father and brother yelling at the TV during an Eagles game!
If you have a story idea or just want to say hi, feel free to e-mail, facebook, or tweet Liz. She loves hearing from you!
