Greensboro, N.C. -- There's only one event that can live up to it's name. The Big Hair Ball Metro Retro is back! And when we say big hair, we mean it.
Models showed off some of the looks while Cyenthia Barker and Lindsey Auman talked about what you'll see at this year's show.
This year's Big Hair Ball Metro Retro is on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 8:00-10:30 p.m. at the Elm Street Center in downtown Greensboro.
This high fashion event is sponsored by The Guild of Family Service of Greensboro. Models will present Glam Rock/Punk 80s inspired custom designed ball-gowns, hair designs, and make-up created to reflect the individual business sponsors.
Event Partners, Indigo Salon create most of the hair designs and students from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro's CARS (Consumer Apparel & Retail Studies) Program design the fashions. Local Honey Salon will also be creating a hair design for this event. The Junior Guild of Family Service of Greensboro provides the models.
The first Big Hair Ball in 2013 raised $40,000. Lindsey Auman revealed this year's goal is $80,000. It all benefits Family Service of the Piedmont, Inc. which raises awareness of major issues related to domestic violence, child abuse, mental health, and foreclosure prevention.
Returning as emcees for the evening are WFMY News 2's Tanya River and Deidre James from Rock92.
