HIGH POINT, NC -- Preparing your taxes can be confusing. It's great if you can afford an expert to help you, but not all of us can.
That's why a special program called Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) has been set up to help people in need.
On Thursday, Charrisse Jones with VITA and Alisha Doulen with the City of High Point joined the Good Morning Show crew to explain how the program works.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program will begin on January 27 in High Point.
Your household income has to be $52,000 or less to take advantage of the program.
Tax preparation is available on a first come, first served basis.
Doulen said the program has saved taxpayers over $500,000 in High Point alone.
To check the hours and locations, call 336-883-3041.
