GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Greensboro Police Department is in search of its next class of officers to serve and protect the Gate City.
The department opened the application process for the 98th Police Basic Introductory Course at the beginning of December. The application process closes April 30, 2014.
The recruitment process includes written, physical and psychological exams. The physical test is called the Police Officer Physical Officer Physical Abilities Test. Recruits have 10 minutes to complete an obstacle course that includes running, push-ups, sit-ups and other tasks.

Applicants must be at least age 21 upon graduation from the Police Academy; be a high school graduate or have a GED; be a U.S. citizen; and must not have been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor. The department also has a full list of requirements on its website.
The target date for the 98th PBIC is Aug. 1, 2014.
