GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A local family is carrying on a holiday tradition for a good cause next Sunday.
Lauren and Elliot Blue started hosting a charity Gingerbread Decorating Party to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society nine years ago. And, they're ready to carry on tradition again this year.
The Gingerbread Decorating Party is next Sunday at High Caliber Stables on Cedar Hollow Road in Greensboro. There will be parties at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
For a minimum $25 donation, you get a gingerbread house with all the decorating materials, as well as food, drinks and snacks.
Proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Check out the couple's Facebook page as well for more information about the event and how you can participate. And, head to their sign-up page to reserve a spot in the fundraiser.
WFMY News 2's Patrick Wright talked to organizers Elliot and Lauren Blue, as well as 10-year-old Molly Coates - who's been participating since 2006 - about why this event is important to them.
